Brett Gardner had a three-run triple and Freddy Garcia pitched six solid innings as the New York Yankees notched their third straight victory with a 4-2 win over the visiting Baltimore Orioles on Sunday.

Garcia (10-7) won his third straight start, allowing two runs on five hits in six innings to reach 10 victories for the eighth time in his career.

Gardner provided all the offense New York needed in a four-run fourth inning, clearing the bases and coming around to score on Curtis Granderson's groundout to help the Yankees improve to 9-1 against Baltimore this year.

Yankees captain Derek Jeter left the game in the fourth with a bruised middle finger after he was struck on the right hand by a pitch one inning earlier.

Mariano Rivera worked a perfect ninth for his 27th save.

Orioles starter Jake Arrieta (10-8) yielded four runs on five hits and six walks in five-plus innings.

Adam Jones and Vladimir Guerrero had RBI singles for Baltimore, which fell to a major league-worst 16-35 on the road.
