After seeing the New York Mets win with game-ending home runs in the first two games of the series, the San Francisco Giants turned in some late-inning heroics of their own Sunday, rallying for a 6-5 win at Citi Field.

New York came back from a 4-0 deficit to take a 5-4 lead in the seventh, but Aaron Rowand blasted a two-run home run off Jenrry Mejia (0-2) in the top of the eighth to put San Francisco back in front for good.

The Mets, who won on walk-off homers by Rod Barajas and Henry Blanco the previous two games, couldn't muster more ninth inning magic against Giants closer Brian Wilson. Wilson struck out five and picked up a five-out save, allowing only one base runner and earning his seventh save in eight opportunities.

Second baseman Micah Downs had two hits and an RBI for the Giants, and rookie Ryan Rohlinger drove in a run in his first game since being called up from the minors. Juan Uribe drew walks in all four of his plate appearances, including one with the bases loaded in the fourth.

Giants starter Tim Lincecum allowed two runs on seven hits and struck out eight. He left after six innings with a 4-2 lead.

Sergio Romo (1-3) was the winning pitcher despite giving up a two-run single to Jason Bay and a sacrifice fly to David Wright after inheriting a bases-loaded jam from Dan Runzler in the seventh.

Bay had two hits and two RBIs, and Ike Davis had two hits and drove in a run for the Mets.

Mets starter Oliver Perez fought control problems, walking seven in 3 1/3 innings. He gave up four runs - three earned - on two hits.
