The red-hot Freddie Freeman drove in the go-ahead run with a solo homer and added another RBI as the visiting Los Angeles Dodgers rallied from a three-run hole Wednesday to beat the Cincinnati Reds, 8-4.

Freeman has seven RBIs in the first two games of the series for the Dodgers.

Alex Vesia (1-0) pitched a scoreless sixth inning in relief of starter Tyler Anderson to notch his first win of the season.

Kyle Farmer had two doubles and three hits for the Reds, who dropped their sixth straight and fell to 0-5 on a homestand that concludes Thursday against the Dodgers.

The Reds jumped on Anderson for three runs in the second, featuring an RBI double from Donovan Solano in his first at-bat in a Reds uniform.

Solano missed the first two months with a left hamstring injury before being activated for Tuesday's game against the Dodgers.

The Dodgers came back with a one-out Will Smith single to left to score Trea Turner and cut the lead to 3-1 in the third.

Cincinnati starter Luis Castillo lost his command and the lead in the fifth when the Dodgers pushed across three runs.

Freeman singled home Gavin Lux, who hustled a hit to right-center into a double to open the frame. Castillo walked Max Muncy, hitting just .153, on four pitches to load the bases with one out.

On the next pitch, Castillo hit Chris Taylor to force in the tying run. Justin Turner followed with an RBI sacrifice fly to center, scoring Smith for a 4-3 Dodgers lead. Castillo was not sharp on the night, allowing four runs on five hits over five innings, walking three and hitting two batters.

Almora connected on his second homer in as many nights to tie the game. Anderson allowed four runs (three earned) on five hits over five innings in receiving the no decision.

Taylor made the play of the game to end the fifth, when he threw out Jonathan India at the plate to complete a fly out double play and keep the game tied.

Freeman's solo homer to right off lefty reliever Ross Detwiler (0-2) to open the seventh put LA back on top, 5-4. Pinch-hitter Trayce Thompson connected for a two-run double as part of a three-run eighth to extend the Dodgers lead.
