San Diego rookie right fielder Franmil Reyes had his first career two-homer game and drove in four runs, and the Padres extended Arizona's losing streak to four games with a 6-2 victory over the Diamondbacks on Monday in Phoenix.

Reyes hit a three-run homer in the second inning and a bases-empty shot in the fourth, his 14th and 15th homers of the season, to extend his hitting streak to nine games and lift the Padres to their fifth victory in seven games.

Paul Goldschmidt and Steven Souza had RBIs for the Diamondbacks, who lost for the sixth time in eight games and remained in third place in the tightly contested National League West. The Colorado Rockies are a half-game in front of the Los Angeles Dodgers and 1 1/2 games ahead of Arizona.

Reyes, 6-foot-5 and 275 pounds, has 15 homers in 180 at-bats this season, including six homers and 10 RBIs during his hitting streak. He has hit safely in 12 of his past 13 games.

The Diamondbacks have scored just 14 runs in the past eight games. They gave up five homers while losing three games to the Dodgers over the weekend, including game-winners in the eighth inning on both Friday and Saturday.

Arizona right-hander Zack Godley (14-8) gave up two hits -- the two Reyes homers -- and four runs in five innings, with seven strikeouts and two walks. Godley has set career highs with 159 2/3 innings and 170 strikeouts in his first full season in the rotation.

San Diego right-hander Bryan Mitchell (1-3) gave up two hits and one run in five innings, with two strikeouts and three walks. He made his first start since May 5 after coming off the disabled list Saturday following his recovery from an elbow. It was his first victory since April 12, 2017, in a relief appearance for the Yankees.

The Diamondbacks took a 1-0 lead in the first inning when Eduardo Escobar walked before David Peralta and Souza singled.

Reyes hit his first homer for a 3-1 lead in the second after Godley walked Eric Hosmer and Wil Myers to open the inning, his only two walks. Reyes homered again in the fourth to make it 4-1. Twelve of his 15 homers this season have come with the bases empty.

Austin Hedges had a two-run single for a 6-1 lead in the eighth before Goldschmidt doubled home a run in the last of the inning.
