Juan Soto delivered a two-run single to center which was the big hit in a four-run rally in the bottom of the eighth inning that helped the Washington Nationals pull out a 5-4 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers on Saturday night at Nationals Park.

The Brewers held a 3-1 lead heading into the bottom of the eighth. A nearly two-hour rain delay stopped play in the top of the frame but Washington bounced back in the bottom half on a rally that started with two outs against Joakim Soria (1-4).

Adam Eaton doubled and then scored on Trea Turner's RBI single. That made it 3-2 before Soria walked Bryce Harper and Anthony Rendon to load the bases. Dan Jennings then came on to face Soto, who singled to center and drove in two for a 4-3 lead.

Jordan Lyles then replaced Jennings and threw a wild pitch that made it 5-3.

For Washington, Greg Holland (1-2) got the win in relief. Justin Miller eventually came on in the ninth and, despite allowing a leadoff homer to Tyler Saladino that cut the lead to 5-4, closed it for his second save.

Both starters pitched well in this game but each finished with a no-decision. Chase Anderson went five innings and gave up one run for the Brewers, who saw their three-game winning streak end.

Stephen Strasburg allowed two runs in six innings for Washington in his third start since coming off the disabled list.

Milwaukee led for much of the game, starting with a two-run fifth inning against Strasburg. In that inning, Mike Moustakas led off with a double and scored when Jonathan Schoop followed with a double that gave the Brewers a 1-0 lead.

Later in the inning, Christian Yelich lined a single to right that brought in Schoop for a 2-0 lead. Washington cut the lead in half in the bottom of the fifth inning on a Wilmer Difo infield single.

Manny Pina then answered in the top of the seventh by crushing a 2-1 pitch from Jimmy Cordero into the Milwaukee bullpen. That solo homer gave the Brewers a 3-1 lead.
