Chris Taylor, Justin Turner and Max Muncy hit home runs, and Rich Hill retired the first 12 batters he faced as the Los Angeles Dodgers cruised to an 11-1 victory Friday over the visiting San Diego Padres.

Playing a slow curveball off a fastball that barely reached 90 mph, Hill (6-4) was more than deceptive enough to keep the Padres off balance, giving up two hits over six scoreless innings with eight strikeouts and one walk.

Padres starter Clayton Richard (7-11) gave up seven runs (six earned) on nine hits in just 3 2/3 innings and has given up at least five earned runs in three of his last four starts and five of his last seven.

Since last earning a victory June 22 at San Francisco, Richard is 0-5 over his last 11 starts with a 7.36 ERA.

Turner hit his 10th home run of the season, a two-run shot in the fourth inning, and continued his recent hot run at the plate, reaching base in 18 of his last 19 games with five home runs in that stretch. Turner had three RBIs, adding a run-scoring single in the second inning.

Taylor hit his 14th home run of the season in the third inning, his first since Aug. 9. The Dodgers lead the National League with 179 home runs this season.

Muncy took the Dodgers' score into double digits when he hit a two-run home run in the seventh inning, his 29th of the season. The home run was the Dodgers' sixth pinch-hit home run of the season and the second by Muncy.

Brian Dozier had doubles in his first two at-bats and delivered his fifth multi-hit game since joining the Dodgers on Aug. 1 following a trade with the Minnesota Twins.

The Padres did not have a baserunner until Hunter Renfroe led off the fifth inning with a double to right field.

Freddy Galvis had a triple in sixth and an RBI double in the eighth off right-hander Yimi Garcia to spoil the Dodgers' shutout bid.

The Dodgers picked up a game on the two teams ahead of them in the National League West, moving 3 1/2 games behind the first-place Arizona Diamondbacks and 2 1/2 games behind the second-place Colorado Rockies.

The Dodgers improved to 10-4 against the Padres, with all five of the remaining games in the season series set to take place at Dodger Stadium.
