Nationals 10, Phillies 3: Jayson Werth burned his former team by homering for the second straight contest and driving in four runs as visiting Washington claimed two of three from its National League East rival.

Ryan Zimmerman also went deep while Anthony Rendon had three hits and scored three runs for the Nationals, who have won six of the nine meetings against Philadelphia this season. Denard Span joined Werth with two hits and scored twice while Ian Desmond ripped a two-run double to highlight a four-run sixth inning.

The substantial offense was more than enough for Tanner Roark (8-6), who allowed one run on four hits in seven innings to snap a two-start skid. Kyle Kendrick (4-9) was not as fortunate, permitting five runs on as many hits in 5 2/3 innings to fall to 5-10 in his career versus Washington.

Werth continued his stellar series in the first inning by jumping on an 0-1 slider from Kendrick and sending it over the wall in left for his 12th homer - and fourth in five outings. The former Phillie also went deep and drove in three runs during Saturday's 5-3 win in 10 innings.

Kendrick kept it together until the sixth and departed shortly after Zimmerman's sacrifice fly gave the Nationals a 4-0 lead. Desmond greeted reliever Mario Hollands with a shot to center to plate Werth and Bryce Harper before coming around to score on Jose Lobaton's single to left.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Nationals RHP Tyler Clippard will make his second All-Star appearance after joining Cincinnati RHP Alfredo Simon as replacement players. Clippard picked up the win as the National League recorded a 5-1 victory in 2011. ... Werth, who played with Philadelphia from 2007-10, is 6-for-18 with 10 RBIs and eight runs scored in his last five contests. ... Phillies 3B Cody Asche ripped a pair of doubles, with the latter one driving in 2B Cesar Hernandez in the ninth.
