Rays 5, Twins 3: James Loney ripped a two-run single in the first inning and Evan Longoria set a franchise record for doubles as visiting Tampa Bay completed a three-game series sweep of Minnesota.

Yunel Escobar had an RBI double and joined Desmond Jennings, Loney and Longoria with two hits apiece for the Rays, who have won five straight and 16 of their last 21. Longoria's second double of the contest - which drove in a run - was the 216th of his career, moving him past Carl Crawford for the first honor while tying him for the franchise lead with 592 RBIs.

Chris Archer (6-5) improved to 3-0 in his career versus Minnesota after allowing three runs - one earned - on six hits in 6 1/3 innings. Grant Balfour issued two walks in the ninth before Kirby Yates recorded the final two outs to secure his first career save.

Josh Willingham delivered an RBI single in the second and drove in another run for the Twins, who had six hits on Sunday and mustered all of 17 in the series. Trevor Plouffe scored on a wild pitch in the sixth and Kendrys Morales recorded two hits in the loss.

Loney opened the scoring by lining a single to right field off Kevin Correia (5-12) to plate Jennings and Ben Zobrist. Escobar's RBI double in the third gave Tampa Bay a 4-1 lead and Longoria tacked on another in the sixth, waiting on an 0-2 curveball from Samuel Deduno and sending it to left to drive in Matt Joyce.
