Indians 2, Astros 1 (13): Mike Aviles lifted a sacrifice fly to right field to plate the go-ahead run in the 13th inning as visiting Cleveland outlasted Houston.

Jose Ramirez doubled off Samuel Deduno (2-6) to start the rally and the next two batters walked – one intentionally - in front of Aviles, who lined out as Ramirez tagged up and scored. Kyle Crockett (4-0) picked up the win in relief and Chad Allen earned his 22nd save as the Indians pulled within four games of Oakland for the second American League wild card.

Scott Feldman started and allowed one run and four hits in eight-plus innings for the Astros, who fell to 8-7 in September. Danny Salazar was nearly as sharp for Cleveland, striking out nine while yielding one run and five hits in 7 1/3 frames.

Dexter Fowler singled leading off the fourth for Houston and moved to second on a two-out wild pitch before coming home when Jake Marisnick singled to center. Feldman retired 15 in a row before Lonnie Chisenhall’s two-out single in the eighth and was at just 97 pitches entering the ninth.

Michael Bourn took the second pitch of the ninth into the gap in left-center and raced all the way around the bases before the call was overturned, sending him back to second base because the ball was stuck in the fence padding. Bourn was erased on a rundown at home, but closer Chad Qualls entered and yielded Santana’s tying single to right.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Feldman has gone at least eight innings in three of his last four starts and has allowed three or fewer earned runs in each of his last six turns. … Astros 2B Jose Altuve went 0-for-6 to snap a string of seven straight games with multiple hits. … Cleveland will try to keep its shrinking wild-card hopes alive at Minnesota on Friday, while Houston welcomes the Seattle Mariners.
