Cubs 7, Pirates 5: Mike Olt and Junior Lake hit back-to-back home runs and Anthony Rizzo went 4-for-5 as Chicago evened the series with visiting Pittsburgh at a game apiece.

The Cubs tagged starter Wandy Rodriguez (0-2) for four runs on nine hits over five innings, beating the left-hander for the second time in a week. Olt had two hits and three RBIs, and Emilio Bonifacio and Welington Castillo added two hits apiece for Chicago.

Cubs starter Jason Hammel (2-0) allowed just three hits - all solo home runs - over seven innings and struck out six in his Wrigley Field debut. Pedro Alvarez and Russell Martin each hit a pair of home runs and Travis Snider also went deep for the Pirates, who had five solo shots among their six hits.

Chicago jumped out early when Bonifacio led off the first with a single and scored on Justin Ruggiano's double. Alvarez's blast tied it 1-1 in the fifth, but Olt and Lake went back-to-back following Rizzo's two-out single in the bottom of the inning to give the Cubs a 4-1 lead.

The Cubs tacked on three more in the sixth on Rizzo's RBI double, Olt's run-scoring single and Lake's RBI groundout. Snider and Martin took Hammel deep in the seventh and Alvarez and Martin homered on consecutive pitches from Pedro Strop in the ninth, but Strop recovered to strike out Neil Walker and Travis Ishikawa to seal it.

GAME NOTEBOOK: All four of the previous meetings this season had been decided by one run. … The loss snapped the Pirates' streak of five straight wins in night games at Wrigley Field. … Bonifacio has recorded multiple hits in six of the Cubs' eight games, including all five against the Pirates.
