Red Sox 11, Rays 1: Rusney Castillo and Christian Vazquez each hit their first major-league home runs as Boston took the rubber match of a three-game series from visiting Tampa Bay.

Rookie Garin Cecchini, who hit his first career home run in Wednesday’s win, added an RBI and two runs scored and Vazquez had an RBI double to cap his first four-hit performance for the Red Sox, who picked up their 70th win to top the total of the 2012 squad. Allen Webster (5-3) allowed one run on seven hits and struck out five in seven innings.

Jeremy Hellickson (1-5) started for the Rays and was reached for six runs on eight hits in 2 1/3 innings. Ben Zobrist drove in a run and Evan Longoria had two hits as Tampa Bay suffered its fifth loss in seven games.

Cecchini reached on an infield single and moved up on a wild pitch in the second before Vazquez came up with two out and ripped a 3-2 fastball off a billboard over the “Green Monster” in left to give Boston 3-1 lead. Cecchini chased Hellickson with an RBI in the third, and Castillo greeted right-hander Steven Geltz by belting a first-pitch fastball out to left-center for a three-run blast.

Mookie Betts continued a strong night for the Red Sox’s future by doubling in fellow rookie Bryce Brentz in the sixth, and the latter delivered an RBI single in the seventh. Boston had six rookies in the starting lineup, and they combined to go 13-for-26 with nine runs scored and nine RBIs.

GAME NOTEBOOK:
Red Sox UTL Brock Holt (concussion) and 1B Mike Napoli (finger, toe) were ruled out for the rest of the season while DH David Ortiz (wrist) remains day-to-day. … Castillo added his first career double in the seventh, just barely missing a second home run when the ball hit the top of the wall in left. … Rays SS Yunel Escobar had an MRI reveal a bruised left knee.
