Giants 5, Padres 0: Buster Posey hit his first home run of the season and Barry Zito tossed seven shutout innings as San Francisco completed a three-game sweep of visiting San Diego.

Zito (3-1) bounced back from a dismal start at Milwaukee last Tuesday and gave up five hits with one walk for San Francisco, which has won 15 of its last 19 home games against the Padres. Zito, who was tagged for nine runs in 2 2-3 innings in his last start, has not allowed a run in 21 innings at AT&T Park this season.

The Giants scored three runs off Eric Stults (2-2) in the third inning when Angel Pagan doubled in two runs and scored on Pablo Sandoval’s single. Posey added to the lead with a two-run shot in the fifth off Stults, who gave up five runs on eight hits over seven frames.

San Diego was shut out for the second straight game and failed to advance a single runner to third base. Everth Cabrera had two hits for the Padres, who were held to two runs and 16 hits over the three-game series.

San Francisco, which has won three straight since being swept in three games in Milwaukee, continues its six-game homestand on Monday against Arizona.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Padres LF Kyle Blanks left the game in the sixth inning after making a running catch into the wall. … Zito won for the second time in his last 12 starts against San Diego. … RF Hunter Pence, who had one hit in three at-bats, has hit safely in 16 of the Giants’ first 19 games.
