Nationals 9, Phillies 2: Dan Haren continued his resurgence with seven strong innings while Anthony Rendon and Ryan Zimmerman homered as host Washington pounded Philadelphia.

Haren (7-11) improved to 3-0 with a 1.29 ERA over his last three turns, allowing two runs on four hits while striking out seven for his first win in eight tries against the Phillies. Wilson Ramos collected two hits and scored twice for the Nationals, who snapped a four-game losing streak.

John Lannan (3-5) was pounded for a season-high eight runs on nine hits over five frames, walking five against his former team. Chase Utley drove home a run in the fourth and scored on a fielder’s choice grounder in the seventh for Philadelphia, which fell to 4-15 since the All-Star break.

After getting out of a bases-loaded jam in the first, Lannan was tagged in three of his final four innings, starting with three runs in the second on Rendon’s two-run shot and Zimmerman’s solo blast. Adam LaRoche added a run-scoring double in the third before Michael Young doubled and Utley followed with a single to plate the Phillies’ first run.

Following a scoreless fourth, Washington put the game away with a four-run fifth as Ramos doubled home former Phillie Jayson Werth and Rendon was intentionally walked to load the bases for Haren, who also drew a free pass. Denard Span stretched the margin to 8-1 four pitches later with a two-run single to right.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Haren improved to 1-4 in his career against Philadelphia, becoming only the 13th pitcher in major-league history to defeat all 30 teams. … Werth went 1-for-3 with two walks, lowering his batting average to a major league-best .395 since July 1. … Philadelphia designated RF Delmon Young for assignment Friday and called up OF Casper Wells, who was claimed off waivers from the Chicago White Sox on Thursday.
