Giants 9, Phillies 2:
Brett Pill and Brandon Crawford each homered and Chad Gaudin tossed seven strong innings as visiting San Francisco snapped its five-game losing streak.

Pill added a two-run single during the Giants’ four-run first inning, and Gaudin (5-2) bounced back from his worst outing of the season by yielding one run on four hits. Pill finished with three hits and a career-best four RBIs in his second game since being recalled from Triple-A Fresno.

Kyle Kendrick (9-8) surrendered seven runs (six earned) on eight hits over two frames for Philadelphia, which was held to five hits and lost for the ninth time in 10 games. Chase Utley belted a solo homer and drove in both runs for the Phillies.

Pill sparked the Giants’ three-run third inning with an RBI single after Kendrick allowed the first three batters to reach base. Gaudin capped the rally with a one-out RBI single after going hitless in his previous 40 at-bats, and the Giants added two runs in the seventh when Pill and Crawford each blasted solo homers.

Rookie Cody Asche drew a standing ovation in the first when he threw out former Phillie Hunter Pence after making a diving stop at third base. Asche made his first career start and went hitless in four at-bats.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Giants 3B Pablo Sandoval left the game in the sixth inning with a bruised right heel. … Giants LF Roger Kieschnick recorded his first major-league hit with an RBI single in the first inning. He went 2-for-5. … After weeks of speculation involving both teams, neither the Giants nor the Phillies made any deals before Wednesday’s non-waiver trade deadline.
