Nationals 6, Mets 4:
Ryan Zimmerman ripped a three-run double in the eighth inning and Ian Desmond homered and drove in the go-ahead run with a double in the ninth as visiting Washington rallied past New York.

Zimmerman cleared the bases with a double into the gap in left-center against Brandon Lyon and Desmond followed Jayson Werth's leadoff double in the ninth with a shot inside the bag at first for a 5-4 lead, Desmond came around to score on Kurt Suzuki's sacrifice fly and Bobby Parnell (5-4) took the loss after allowing two runs in the ninth.

The rally spoiled a stellar outing by Mets starter Matt Harvey, who struck out 11 over seven innings and yielded one run on three hits. Harvey didn't allow a baserunner until Desmond's home run with two outs in the fifth - the first Harvey has allowed since Joey Votto took him deep on May 22,

New York gave Harvey a lead with an unearned run in the fourth inning as Desmond's throwing error allowed Marlon Byrd to reach and David Wright to score. Desmond tied it with his blast a half-inning later, but the Mets regained control with two in the fifth on Byrd's RBI double and Josh Satin's run-scoring single.

Satin added to the margin with an RBI double in the seventh and collected a career-high three hits. Tyler Clippard (6-1) pitched a scoreless eighth for the win, and Drew Storen worked a perfect ninth for his second save.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Harvey has recorded double-digit strikeouts five times this season, the most in the National League. He has allowed one run or fewer in 11 of his 17 starts. … Desmond's wild throw in the fourth snapped a career-best streak of 59 games without an error. … Nationals starter Ross Detwiler allowed three runs - two earned - on six hits over five innings.
