Phillies 13, Royals 4: Alex Gordon hit a bases-loaded triple in the sixth inning and Chris Getz did the same in the seventh as Kansas City rallied from an early four-run deficit to spoil the home opener for Philadelphia.

Gordon ripped the third pitch from reliever Jeremy Horst into the gap in right-center field to give the Royals a 5-4 lead and Getz lined one past a diving Domonic Brown in left with one out in the seventh to make it 9-4 as the Phillies bullpen faltered. Eric Hosmer finished 4-for-5 with three RBIs for Kansas City, which has won two straight after an 0-2 start.

Bruce Chen (1-0) got the win with a scoreless inning in relief of starter Wade Davis, who allowed four runs in four innings in his Royals debut. Kyle Kendrick (0-1) was charged with five runs in 5 2/3 innings for Philadelphia, leaving with a 4-2 lead and seeing Horst allow all three inherited runners to score and combine with two other relievers to give up eight runs in 3 1/3 innings.

Ryan Howard had a pair of RBI singles and Brown and Erik Kratz homered to help the Phillies build a 4-0 lead. However, Philadelphia was held hitless after the third inning in falling to 3-7 in home openers at Citizens Bank Park.

Kansas City's comeback began in the fifth, when Getz, Miguel Tejada and Gordon each singled to load the bases for Hosmer, who singled to right to cut the deficit to 4-2. Alcides Escobar smacked a solo shot in the eighth and Escobar and Hosmer capped the onslaught with RBI doubles in the ninth.
