Tigers 5, Twins 2: Torii Hunter and Austin Jackson belted two-run homers to back 7 2/3 strong innings from Doug Fister as visiting Detroit won the rubber match of the three-game series.

Fister (6-4) carried a no-hitter into the sixth en route to snapping a three-game losing streak, allowing two runs on two hits to win for the first time since May 14. Joaquin Benoit got the final four outs for his fourth save.

Twins starter P.J. Walters (2-2) lasted a season-low 5 1/3 innings, permitting four runs on nine hits as Minnesota fell to 7-18 against the Tigers in the last 25 meetings at Target Field.

The Tigers jumped on Walters in their first at-bat as Jackson led off with a single and Hunter followed with a shot to left field for his 300th career homer. Jackson doubled the lead in the fourth with a blast into the second deck in left and Hunter added insurance with an RBI ground-rule double in the ninth.

Brian Dozier ended Fister's no-hit bid with a leadoff homer in the sixth inning and doubled with two out in the eighth before scoring on Clete Thomas' single off Benoit to pull the Twins within 4-2.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Hunter, who started his career with the Twins, hit his first major-league homer against Detroit at Tiger Stadium in 1999. ... Twins LF Josh Willingham sat out Sunday's contest after receiving an injection in his ailing right knee following Saturday's game. ... Detroit will open a seven-game homestand against Baltimore on Monday, while Minnesota will host the Chicago White Sox for three games beginning Tuesday.
