White Sox 3, Angels 0:
Chris Sale threw 7 2/3 innings to run his scoreless streak to 23 innings and visiting Chicago won its season-best fourth straight game.

Sale (5-2) allowed three hits and struck out a season-high 12 while frustrating the Angels for the second time in six days. He threw a one-hitter Sunday against Los Angeles in a 3-0 victory in Chicago. Addison Reed worked a perfect ninth for his 14th save.

C.J. Wilson (3-3) did his best to match Sale, allowing two runs and six hits in seven innings, the first time he finished the seventh this season.

Wilson threw 10 consecutive strikes to start the game, but Chicago right fielder Alex Rios hit No. 10 over the fence in left-center field. It was the second consecutive game Rios gave the White Sox a 1-0 lead with a home run and extended his hitting streak to 12 games.

Sale walked two batters in a 24-pitch first inning – his first walks in 17 2/3 innings – and Chicago catcher Tyler Flowers made an error trying to throw out Mike Trout on a steal, but Sale got Josh Hamilton to pop out to end the inning and strand runners on the corners.

GAME NOTEBOOK: White Sox 3B Conor Gillaspie had a two-out RBI single in the seventh to give Chicago a 2-0 lead. It was the 100th two-out run allowed by the Angels this season, the most in the majors. … Sale improved to 10-0 in his career against the AL West. … White Sox 1B Adam Dunn hit a solo homer in the ninth inning, his fourth homer in the last four games.
