Diamondbacks 2, Phillies 1: Patrick Corbin posted his seventh consecutive quality start this season and helped himself with an RBI groundout as host Arizona won the opener of the four-game series.

Corbin (5-0) threw 6 1/3 innings, allowing one run and four hits before relievers Matt Reynolds, David Hernandez and Heath Bell combined to get the final eight outs with Bell earning his fourth save. After Corbin departed with runners on first and second in the seventh, Reynolds allowed a single and run-scoring groundout to pinch-hitter Kevin Frandsen before ending the inning with the Diamondbacks still leading 2-1.

Phillies starter Cole Hamels (1-5) threw six innings, allowing two runs, six hits and issuing five of the eight walks by Philadelphia pitchers. Delmon Young and Domonic Brown contributed two hits each for the Phillies.

Arizona plated the game’s first run in the fifth after Martin Prado and Gerardo Parra, who had two hits apiece, led off with singles before advancing on a groundout. Corbin then grounded out to shortstop, scoring Prado for a 1-0 lead.

The Diamondbacks scored again in the sixth after Cody Ross led off with a double, Miguel Montero walked and both advanced on a groundout. Parra then executed a squeeze play to score Ross for a 2-0 lead.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Charlie Manuel managed his 1,332nd regular-season game for the Phillies, breaking the previous team record set by Gene Mauch from 1960-68. … Hamels had three games from 2011-12 in which he walked four or more batters in a game. He has three such games in eight starts this season … The Diamondbacks remain the only major league team that hasn’t been shut out this season.
