Giants 2, Dodgers 1
: Brett Pill hit a two-run homer and Ryan Vogelsong outdueled Clayton Kershaw to lead visiting San Francisco.

Pill went deep in the second inning and Vogelsong (1-2) allowed one run and eight hits in 7 1/3 innings as the Giants avenged Monday’s loss to the Dodgers.

Los Angeles loaded the bases against Vogelsong in the eighth but left-handed reliever Javier Lopez induced left-handed hitting Andre Ethier to bounce into an inning-ending double play.

Lopez retired the first two batters in the ninth before Santiago Casilla retired Juan Uribe on a grounder for his sixth save.

Kershaw (2-1) allowed two runs and five hits in eight innings while losing to the Giants for only the second time in eight career decisions. He struck out seven and walked one.

Buster Posey led off the San Francisco second inning with a single before Pill belted his second homer of the season.

Los Angeles scored in the bottom of the inning on doubles by Ethier and James Loney.

The Dodgers squandered a solid opportunity in the seventh after Juan Rivera and Loney led off the inning with singles. Uribe bunted into a double play with Posey throwing to third for the force and Joaquin Arias relaying to first to retire Uribe. A.J. Ellis ended the inning by popping out to second.
