Mariners 9, Tigers 1: Dustin Ackley had three hits and drove in three runs and Felix Hernandez continued his mastery of Detroit by tossing seven solid innings in the rout.

Alex Liddi homered for the second straight contest and Jesus Montero added a pair of RBI singles. Ichiro Suzuki joined Ackley and Montero with three-hit performances for the Mariners, who matched their 15-hit effort in the series opening victory on Tuesday.

The offensive explosion was more than enough for Hernandez (2-1), who posted his ninth straight victory over the Tigers. The 2010 American League Cy Young Award winner allowed Brennan Boesch's solo homer in the third inning and just three other hits in the win.

With Seattle leading 1-0, Ackley's single to shallow right plated a pair of runs before Brendan Ryan's sacrifice fly gave the Mariners a four-run lead.

Liddi followed in the third with a two-run shot to left off Adam Wilk (0-3) for his second homer of the season.

Making his third career start, Wilk yielded six runs on eight hits in two innings to take the loss.

GAME NOTEBOOK: With 1,598 wins, Tigers manager Jim Leyland remained one victory shy of tying Tommy Lasorda for 17th on the career list. ... Seattle general manager Jack Zduriencik dismissed the notion that the Mariners knew that pitcher Michael Pineda was injured prior to making an offseason deal with the New York Yankees for Montero. "Absolutely not," Zduriencik told ESPNNewYork.com. "None, whatsoever. Before the trade, he was going to be our No. 2 starter."
