Marlins 4, Reds 0: Rookie right-hander Jacob Turner threw seven innings of two-hit ball to earn his first win with Miami and Greg Dobbs homered to help the host Marlins claim the opener of their three-game series against National League Central-leading Cincinnati.

Turner (1-2) picked up his first win in four starts since the Marlins acquired him from Detroit. He struck out three and walked two in just his second major-league win. Heath Bell and Steve Cishek each pitched a scoreless frame to finish the three-hit shutout, which was only the major league-best third this season for the Reds.

Carlos Lee had an RBI single before leaving the game with a neck strain. Lee lined a run-scoring single to right in the fifth, and a second run came home when he was caught in a rundown between first and second. Lee injured his neck on a head-first slide as he was tagged out by shortstop Wilson Valdez.

Reds starter Bronson Arroyo (12-8) allowed four runs on nine hits over six innings, snapping a streak of five straight wins dating to Aug. 6.

Justin Ruggiano staked Turner to a 1-0 lead with an RBI double in the third and Dobbs added his fifth homer, a solo shot into the right-field seats, in the fourth.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Reds OF Jay Bruce went 0-for-4 and is mired in an 0-for-17 slump. … Cincinnati's lead in the NL Central is 11 games over St. Louis, which dropped an 8-5 decision to the Los Angeles Dodgers.
