Marlins 3, Cardinals 2: Jose Reyes’ soft grounder brought home the go-ahead run and Logan Morrison added a long homer as visiting Miami won for the seventh time in nine games.

With runners on first and third and two outs in the seventh inning, the speedy Reyes hit a bouncer toward third. Pitcher Jake Westbrook (7-7) fielded it but overthrew first as Greg Dobbs scored to put the Marlins ahead 2-1.

An inning later, Morrison crushed one over the right-field fence, extending his hitting streak to nine games.

Ricky Nolasco (8-6) beat the Cardinals for the first time in eight career tries, allowing one unearned run over six innings. Heath Bell earned his 19th save despite giving up a ninth-inning run.

Cardinals third baseman David Freese went 3-for-4 with an RBI double, but also committed two errors. Westbrook allowed two runs (one earned) on five hits in 6 2/3 innings.

St. Louis jumped on top in the second. Allen Craig reached on an infield single, made second on Reyes’ throwing error and scored when Freese doubled off the third-base bag. Freese botched a sixth-inning grounder that enabled Hanley Ramirez to score the tying run.

Matt Holliday extended his hitting streak to nine games, going 1-for-4.
