Phillies 8, Braves 5 (10):
John Mayberry Jr. hit a three-run homer in the 10th after Erik Kratz had forced extra innings with a homer in the ninth as visiting Philadelphia rallied past Atlanta.

Cristhian Martinez (5-4) came on to pitch the 10th for Atlanta and allowed a leadoff single to Kevin Fransden, who advanced to second on a balk and third on a groundout. After the Braves elected to intentionally walk Ryan Howard, Martinez struck out Juan Pierre but could not get Mayberry, who belted a first-pitch slider into the seats in left to put the Phillies on top.

Josh Lindblom (3-3) got the win in relief and Jonathan Papelbon picked up his 31st save with a scoreless 10th for Philadelphia, which made sure the Braves’ wild card lead stayed at three games over the St. Louis Cardinals.

The Braves have lost nine of 13 to fall 6 1/2 games behind division-leading Washington in the NL East.

Kratz, who had taken a big hit on a home plate collision with Chipper Jones earlier in the game, came through in the ninth. Atlanta closer Craig Kimbrel delivered an 0-2 fastball at 99 mph that Kratz turned around and put into the left-field seats for his eighth blast.

Philadelphia drew even at 4-4 with a three-run sixth inning but Dan Uggla quickly put the Braves back on top. Leading off the bottom of the sixth, Uggla got a 2-2 fastball from left-hander Jeremy Horst and blasted it out to center for his 18th home run.

Atlanta had taken the lead with a four-run rally against Roy Halladay in the fifth that included two-run homers from Martin Prado and Freddie Freeman.

Howard homered and drove in two for the Phillies, who have won six of eight.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Kimbrel had not allowed a run in 10 straight appearances before serving up Kratz’s homer. … Phillies SS Jimmy Rollins was back in the lineup a day after being benched for not hustling. Rollins went 1-for-5 and committed a throwing error. … Atlanta traded for utility infielder Jeff Baker on Friday, sending a player to be named or cash back to the Detroit Tigers. … The Braves had release veteran SS Jack Wilson earlier in the day.
