Blue Jays 8, Yankees 1: Toronto blasted four home runs and Kyle Drabek held New York in check for seven innings, snapping a three-game losing streak.

J.P. Arencibia, Edwin Encarnacion, Jose Bautista and Kelly Johnson went deep as the Blue Jays jumped all over New York starter Hiroki Kuroda. Arencibia hit his fourth homer of the season, a two-run shot, in the bottom of the second as the Blue Jays went ahead 2-0.

In the third, Eric Thames hit a two-out double. Bautista walked, and Encarnacion connected on his 13th homer of the year to make it 5-0 Toronto.

Bautista hit his ninth of the year, a solo shot off Kuroda (3-5), in the fifth to push Toronto’s advantage to 6-0.

Drabek (3-4) scattered three hits in seven innings, giving up a run in the sixth on Mark Teixeira’s single. Drabek walked four and struck out five, lowering his ERA to 3.30.

Kuroda lasted just five innings, allowing eight hits and seven runs.

Johnson singled home a run in the fourth and belted his eighth home run in the seventh, a solo shot off reliever Clay Rapada.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Encarnacion and Arencibia finished with three hits each. … Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter was given the night off. Jayson Nix started at short and hit ninth, while center fielder Curtis Granderson batted leadoff.
