Blue Jays 15, Red Sox 7: Toronto slugged four homers and rolled up 11 runs against Boston starter Jon Lester en route to completing its first three-game road sweep of the host Red Sox since late in the 2009 season.

Brett Lawrie homered on the first pitch of the game to start a five-run first inning, J.P. Arencibia and Rajai Davis homered during a four-run second inning and Travis Snider went deep in the fifth to end Lester’s worst-ever performance.

Arencibia had four RBIs – his homer was a three-run blast – and Snider drove in three as Toronto matched its season-high run total and set a season best with 18 hits. Davis and Yunel Escobar had three hits apiece and five other Toronto players had two each in support of starter Henderson Alvarez (6-7).

Lester’s day ended when Snider hit a two-run homer with none out in the fifth and he was booed lustily by the Fenway Park crowd while exiting. Lester (5-8) gave up nine hits and five walks while allowing the most runs by a Boston starter in 29 years.

Adrian Gonzalez hit a three-run homer and Jacoby Ellsbury added a solo shot for Boston.

The Red Sox pulled within 11-7 in the sixth on run-scoring doubles by Mike Aviles and Nick Punto before the Blue Jays put the game away with a four-run eighth. Colby Rasmus singled in two runs and the other two scored on sacrifice flies by Edwin Encarnacion and Snider.

Alvarez allowed seven runs and eight hits in 5 2/3 innings.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Toronto scored 28 runs during the three-game sweep. … The last Boston pitcher to allow 11 runs in a game was Doug Bird against Chicago in 1983. Pedro Martinez gave up 10 runs against Baltimore in 2003 to mark the most recent time a Boston starter allowed double digits. … Arencibia is batting just .140 in 93 career at-bats against the Red Sox but seven of his 13 hits are homers. … Lester has failed to make it through five innings in three consecutive starts.
