Ross Detwiler scattered three hits over seven innings to collect his first career road victory as the Washington Nationals completed a doubleheader sweep of the Philadelphia Phillies with a 3-0 victory Tuesday night.

Rookie Danny Espinosa had three hits - including a solo homer - and scored on Detwiler's single in the sixth for Washington, which has won nine of its last 12. The Nationals recorded a 4-3 victory in 10 innings in the opener and have split the first 16 games of the season series with the Phillies.

Espinosa has dominated Cliff Lee (16-8) this season, going 7-for-10 with three homers. His solo shot to deep center in the second continued his nine-game hitting streak. He has 14 hits during that stretch.

The offense was enough for Detwiler (3-5), who improved to 1-9 in 19 career road games. He allowed a pair of harmless singles to Ben Francisco and another to Placido Polanco, with neither runner advancing to second base.

Lee saw his seven-game winning streak come to an end after permitting three runs on 11 hits in seven innings.

Philadelphia has dropped four in a row since clinching its fifth consecutive National League East title Saturday.

The Phillies remain three wins shy of matching the franchise mark of 101, set in both 1976 and 1977. Their magic number remained at one to clinch home-field advantage throughout the playoffs.
