The Texas Rangers belted four solo home runs off Clay Buchholz, and Matt Harrison threw seven strong innings in a 5-1 win and series sweep over the Boston Red Sox on Sunday at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington.

The Rangers got homers from Ian Kinsler, Mike Napoli, David Murphy and Nelson Cruz. It was the third home run of the season for both Kinsler and Cruz. Texas hit 11 home runs in the series.

Harrison (1-0) allowed just one run on five hits while fanning eight as Texas improved to 3-0 on the season. Buchholz (0-1) allowed four runs and just five hits in six innings.

Carl Crawford, who went hitless in his first two games for the Red Sox, was 2-for-4 with an RBI. His single in the seventh cut the deficit to 3-1, but Harrison later fanned Jacoby Ellsbury with the bases loaded to end the inning.

It is the first time Boston started a season 0-3 since 1996 when it lost the first five games of the season.
