Seth Smith and Miguel Olivo had three hits apiece and Aaron Cook took a shutout into the seventh inning as the Colorado Rockies defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers 11-3 on Saturday night.

Smith had a two-run single in the fifth inning to give Colorado a convincing 8-0 lead as the Rockies won for the sixth time in seven games.

Olivo had a two-run triple in the eighth as Colorado scored 11 runs for the second time in six games.

Cook (2-3) took a three-hit shutout into the seventh before the Dodgers scored three times in the inning. He allowed three runs – two earned – and six hits in 6 1/3 innings while winning for the first time since April 24.

The Rockies took control early with two runs in the first and another in the second on Carlos Gonzalez’s homer. Clint Barmes and Cook had run-scoring singles in the third to make it 5-0.

Dodgers starter Hiroki Kuroda (5-3) got touched up for seven runs – five earned – and 10 hits in four-plus innings.

Rafael Furcal went 3-for-4 with an RBI for Los Angeles.
