Matt Kemp’s sixth-inning triple drove in the go-ahead run to help the Los Angeles Dodgers to a 6-5 victory over the visiting Colorado Rockies on Friday night.
Kemp’s triple to right-center field scored Jamey Carroll with the decisive run.
Jonathan Broxton pitched the ninth for his second save of the season.
The Dodgers had taken a 5-3 lead by scoring three runs in the fifth. Andre Ethier doubled in one run and scored on Casey Blake’s single. Blake scored later in the inning on a single by Russell Martin.
Colorado tied the score in the top of the sixth on Seth Smith’s run-scoring single and Todd Helton’s sacrifice fly.
Jeff Weaver (1-1) picked up the win in relief for his 100th career victory. Matt Daley (0-1) took the loss for Colorado by allowing a run for just the second time in 16 appearances.
Los Angeles starter Hiroki Kuroda had his roughest outing of the season by allowing five runs – four earned – and nine hits in 5 1/3 innings.
Colorado starter Esmil Rogers gave up five runs – four earned – and seven hits in 4 2/3 innings.
