Troy Glaus drove in a pair of runs and Kris Medlen pitched well and also knocked in the winning run to lead the streaking Atlanta Braves to a 4-3 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers on Thursday.

Glaus had an RBI single in the first inning and launched a solo home run in the third to give Atlanta a 3-0 lead. Medlen added an RBI double to left in the sixth that proved to be the difference and give the Braves their ninth straight win.

Medlen (3-1) pitched 7 1/3 innings, allowing three runs - two earned - and six hits with four strikeouts. Jonny Venters picked up his first save of the season by striking out Russell Martin to end the game.

Los Angeles came into the contest with a four-game win streak but had trouble scoring runs despite the victories. The Dodgers scored 11 runs in the four wins, including two in the last two games, and had trouble generating offense again Thursday.

The Dodgers scored all three of their runs in the eighth inning. They had four of their seven hits in the eighth and were threatening to tie or take the lead but Andre Ethier struck out to end the frame with runners on first and third.

Hiroki Kuroda (5-4) allowed four runs and seven hits in six innings. He walked four and had a pair of strikeouts but took the loss for his third straight start.
