Daniel Hudson pitched eight superb innings and added an RBI single as the Arizona Diamondbacks halted their four-game losing streak with a 3-1 triumph over the Cincinnati Reds.

Mark Reynolds and Justin Upton also drove in runs for the Diamondbacks, who had dropped 11 of their previous 12 meetings with the Reds.

Hudson (7-2) cruised to his third consecutive win and sixth in seven decisions, allowing just four hits and walking one. The 23-year old struck out eight and improved to 6-1 with a 1.67 ERA in nine starts since being acquired from the Chicago White Sox. He is also 4-0 in four road outings.

Juan Gutierrez allowed a run in the ninth but left the bases loaded to notch his ninth save in 11 opportunities.

Reds starter Travis Wood hit a two-out double in the third but was stranded as Hudson retired Brandon Phillips on a groundout. The Diamondbacks then got to Wood for two runs on five hits in the fourth, with Reynolds and Hudson delivering run-scoring singles.

Orlando Cabrera led off the bottom of the inning with a double, but Cincinnati was unable to get him home. Conversely, Tony Abreu opened the fifth for Arizona with a double and Upton followed with an RBI single to open a 3-0 lead.

Wood (5-3) lost for just the second time in seven decisions, surrendering three runs and nine hits in five innings. Starting at home for only the third time in 14 outings, the 23-year-old struck out eight without a walk.
