Mat Latos pitched six scoreless innings and Jerry Hairston Jr. went 3-for-4 with a homer and four runs scored as the San Diego Padres salvaged the finale of their three-game series against the Arizona Diamondbacks with a 10-1 victory.

Chris Denorfia belted a two-run homer and scored three times, Adrian Gonzalez notched two hits and two RBIs and Everth Cabrera collected three hits for the Padres, who had lost four of five overall and 14 of their last 18 games at Chase Field.

Latos (12-5) made sure San Diego avoided being swept for the second time this season, allowing just two hits and four walks. The 22-year old struck out six and has yielded two earned runs or fewer in 10 straight starts and three or fewer in 17 in a row.

Scott Hairston opened the scoring in the second with an RBI single and older brother Jerry belted his ninth homer of the season, a solo shot with one out in the third to make it 2-0.

Gonzalez plated a run during the Padres' four-run rally in the fifth with a single and added another RBI base hit in San Diego's two-run seventh, which created a commanding 8-0 advantage. Denorfia completed the scoring with his eighth blast in the ninth.

Making his third start for Arizona since being acquired from the Los Angeles Angels, Joe Saunders (1-1) lasted six innings, surrendering six runs - five earned - and eight hits.

Chris Young had an RBI double and Mark Reynolds returned from a three-game absence due to a head injury and went 0-for-4 for the Diamondbacks, who had won three in a row and five of seven.
