Joe Saunders threw his fifth career complete game and Mark Reynolds homered as the Arizona Diamondbacks topped the Washington Nationals 6-1 Tuesday in the second game of a four-game set.

Saunders allowed five hits and two walks while surrendering only one run as he recorded his first win with Arizona since being acquired in a trade for Dan Haren.

Arizona fell behind early when Ryan Zimmerman hit a home run in the first inning, but the Diamondbacks offense woke up in the third inning to give Saunders some support.

Stephen Drew hit his own solo shot to tie the game at 1-1 and then Reynolds hit a three-run bomb in the fourth to make it 4-1.

Miguel Montero hit a sacrifice fly in the sixth and Kelly Johnson singled in a run in the seventh to cap the scoring.

Washington starter Scott Olsen (3-3) suffered the loss, allowing five runs on seven hits in 5 2/3 innings.

The win did come at a price for Arizona, as Reynolds left the game in the sixth inning after being hit in the head by a pitch.
