Manny Ramirez, Casey Blake, Matt Kemp and Andre Ethier all homered for the Los Angeles Dodgers in Tuesday’s 9-5 home-opening victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks.

James Loney had a pair of doubles and scored twice and Russell Martin drove in a run on a sacrifice-fly as the Dodgers avoided their worst start in 12 years.

Clayton Kershaw (1-0) lasted 5 1/3 innings, allowing two runs on three hits with seven strikeouts and five walks.

The Dodgers chased Arizona starter Ian Kennedy in part to a trio of home runs, beginning with a solo shot by Ramirez and a two-run blast by Blake during the fourth that made it 3-1. Kemp went deep an inning later.

Kennedy (0-1), a Southern California native, surrendered six runs on six hits over 4 1/3 innings.

Ethier’s three-run homer in the sixth extended the advantage to 9-2.

Mark Reynolds hit a two-run homer in the seventh as part of a three-run frame to cut the deficit to 9-5.

Chris Young, Kelly Johnson and Chris Synder each knocked in a run for Arizona.
