Ian Kinsler hit a three-run homer and C.J. Wilson pitched seven strong innings as the Texas Rangers bounced back from a rare loss with 7-2 victory over the Houston Astros on Saturday.
Max Ramirez added an RBI double and Vladimir Guererro drove in a run for the Rangers, who have won 12 of 13 and own the second-best record in baseball at 45-29.
Josh Hamilton kept his hot streak going, singling in the sixth to push his hitting streak to an even 20 games. The former All-Star has taken baseball by storm this month, posting a .484 batting average with 27 RBIs.
Tied at 2-2 after Ramirez’s double plated Justin Smoak in the fourth, Kinsler got to a shaky Josh Banks (0-1) for a three-run shot, pushing across Ramirez and Michael Young to put Texas on top for good. Elvis Andrus added a two-run single in the fifth to put it out of reach.
Wilson (6-3) allowed two runs and five hits while striking out three and issuing four walks. The left-hander has not lost in June and has allowed two earned runs in each of his last four outings.
