Carlos Quentin hit two home runs and Gordon Beckham also went deep to back up Gavin Floyd and lead the Chicago White Sox to a 5-1 victory over the Kansas City Royals on Saturday.

Floyd (5-7) gave the White Sox another strong effort from their starters as he allowed a run and six hits in 7 2/3 innings. The right-hander struck out four and allowed one walk en route to winning his third straight start.

Quentin homered in the second to put the White Sox on the board and he added a two-run shot to highlight Chicago's four-run fifth, giving the slugger 17 long balls for the season. Beckham also homered in the fifth and the 5-0 lead was more than enough for their starter.

The Royals finally got to Floyd in the eighth on an RBI double by David DeJesus, but it was not nearly enough to keep the White Sox from winning their seventh straight.

Kansas City starter Brian Bannister (7-7) took the loss, allowing five runs and seven hits in six innings.
