A.J. Burnett dominated through 7 1/3 innings and Francisco Cervelli had three hits to lead the New York Yankees past the Baltimore Orioles, 4-1, on Tuesday.

Alex Rodriguez added an RBI and Ramiro Pena drove in two runs for the Yankees, who have won three straight and moved to 9-2 at home.

Burnett (4-0), who allowed three hits in eight scoreless innings at Baltimore last week, was similarly dominant on Tuesday, striking out eight while yielding only five hits. The veteran right-hander's lone run was unearned as a result of his own throwing error in the third inning.

Pena erased that run with an RBI ground out in the bottom of the frame and New York took the lead in the fifth when Baltimore left-hander Brian Matusz (2-2) allowed a run to score on his own throwing error and then walked Rodriguez with the bases loaded.

Pena's sacrifice fly in the eighth scored Brett Gardner to complete the scoring.

With closer Mariano Rivera getting an extra day off to nurse a minor strain in his side, Joba Chamberlain picked up his second save in as many days with a scoreless ninth.
